Historically the best game viewing is during the dry months when water becomes scarce resulting in game clustering around waterholes.  In the Timbavati this will generally be from May to September.  The rains normally start from around October which turns the bushveld into a green paradise.  This makes game viewing difficult but the abundance of bird life, baby animals and predators make up for this.

Kambaku Lodges are highly sought after by local and international guests because of their prime location within the highly acclaimed Timbavati Private Nature Reserve. Being part of the world-renowned Kruger National Park, the Timbavati enjoys a wealth of incredible biodiversity of both Fauna and Flora as well as the amazing White Lions of the Timbavati. Kambaku offers guests an exceptional safari experience, either by open safari vehicles or by foot. Expect to enjoy intimate sightings of the Big 5, White Lions, Wild Dogs, Cheetah, Hippo, and Crocodile as well as a large variety of other general game and birds whilst taking in the natural beauty of the real African bushveld. This safari lodge in Timbavati Private Game Reserve has a relaxed and casual atmosphere, where you can watch the antics of the resident Warthog family; this is what makes it a great place for families to enjoy a bush holiday.

Thatched Chalets

The lodge consists of eight beautiful thatched chalets situated in a semi-circle around a water hole allowing you to relax on your private veranda and watch animals come down to drink. The central areas of the lodge have been built in an unobtrusive manner so that they blend in with the surrounding bush. The eight thatched rooms at Kambaku accommodate  sixteen guests and offer a variety of options ranging from the honeymoon suite, family suites to double and twin rooms. The honeymoon suite ensures additional privacy and a touch of something a little out of the ordinary.

Dining

Enjoy morning coffee/tea with pastries before and during the morning drive, a large brunch upon your return from your game drive and then high in the afternoon (with snacks including hot appetizers and pastries). Dinner time conversations with the hosts and other guests along with the lovely food are made for some lovely memories.

Activities

You can enjoy exciting morning and evening game drives in open safari vehicles, accompanied by experienced rangers who will help them track the Big Five. You can also set off on interesting bush walks, a great way to see the smaller wildlife, or you can relax by the pool with an interesting book.
