Day 4 – 9

After a hearty breakfast bid your hosts farewell as you travel back to Maputo by boat. Enjoy a short road transfer through the vibrant streets of the capitol city to Maputo Airport where you will check in for your flight to Inhambane. Tofo situated approximately 30 minutes from Inhambane where you will stay at Hotel Tofo Mar.

Tofo is well known for their whale shark and Manta Rays diving. The Tofo area allows you diving in an area that is rich with a diverse array of marine life, including hard and soft corals, pelagic fishes, a multitude of colourful reef fish, turtles and giant moray eels. There are a wide variety of rays, some of which are not seen in many parts of the world. Many people visit Tofo just for the experience of diving with Manta Rays, including the Giant Manta ray, as the area has one of the largest known Manta Ray populations in the world! Apart from rays, you may also see Grey Reef Sharks, White and Black Tip Reef Sharks as well as the majestic Whaleshark. For those divers who love the little things, the reefs offer a great diversity of shrimps, nudibranchs leaf fish, frog fish and a whole range of the small and beautiful to keep you fascinated throughout your dive. Dive sites vary in distance from 5 mins to 35 mins to some of the most spectacular reefs on the Mozambican coastline. You may even have the opportunity to snorkel with Whale sharks on the boat trip to the dive site.

Enjoy five nights at Hotel Tofo Mar on a Bed & Breakfast basis, including airport transfer and four days of diving.

Day 10 – 13

Take in the sights and sounds of the Mozambique countryside as you sit back and enjoy a scenic road transfer from Tofo to Vilanculos. The trip takes approximately 3.5 hours and winds its way up the coast through local villages. Once in Vilanculos you will be met by the Anantara representative for your boat transfer across to Bazaruto Island, the largest island in the Bazaruto Archipelago.

Explore two of the best local dive sites with knowledgeable, qualified guides. Just five minutes away, Neptunes Reef is a haven for trigger, lion and crocodile fish, alongside octopus and honeycomb eel, with a maximum depth of five metres making it ideal for beginners.

Two Mile is a long stretch of pristine coral reefs. The northern side is abundant in colorful coral, while the southern side is flatter and sandier with a good chance of seeing big rays. The underwater life around is amazingly varied, with 75% of the Indian Ocean reef fish having been spotted here, 7 different kind of rays, reef sharks, turtles and more. The best part is that you will not see anybody else underwater and the only bubbles you will see will be from your fellow divers in your group (max 6 divers). Come and explore the fascinating world below the waves. Explore the famous Two Mile Reef – a Turtle lover’s paradise.

Enjoy four nights at Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort & Spa on a fully inclusive basis with two dives.
