Itinerary

Day 1 – 3

Arrive in Mpumalanga, the province where the sun rises and home to South Africa’s most famous game parks and reserves.  You will be met on arrival and enjoy a scenic drive to your destination in the world renowned Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve.

Umkumbe Safari Lodge is a small, intimate owner managed and run game lodge in the heart of the Sabi Sands Game Reserve.  The lodge offers a rustic and real South Africa safari experience with only ten chalets overlooking the Sand River.  You need not leave the comfort of the lodge to view animals as Buffalo, Elephants, Hippos and antelope are often seen grazing in the river bed.  Cool down from the warm summer heat in the lodge swimming pool and spend your night under star filled skies in the traditional boma where the sightings of the day is discussed whilst the kitchen team serves hearty, delicious South African meals.

Enjoy three nights at Umkumbe Safari Lodge inclusive of all meals and two game drives / bush walks per day.

Day 4 – 6

Bid your hosts farewell before being transferred by road to the Kruger Mpumalanga Airport just outside of Nelspruit. From here you will connect to Vilanculos, Mozambique.  The little coastal town is known as the gateway to the Bazaruto Archipelago – one of the marine park gems in Mozambique.

You will be met on arrival in Vilanculos by the friendly driver from Bahia Mar Boutique Hotel.  A short drive through the town will bring you to your paradise retreat for the next three nights.  Bahia Mar Boutique Hotel is situated on the Vilanculos beachfront overlooking the islands of the Bazaruto Archipelago.  The hotel is a heaven from the hustle and bustle of the modern world with its views of azure blue waters.  Be as active or relaxed as you want, Vilanculos offers a plethora of activities to choose from – from scuba diving and snorkelling in the marine reserve, horse riding along the beach, kite surfing, stand up paddle boarding and more.

Enjoy three nights at Bahia Mar Boutique Hotel on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis.

Day 7

Start planning your next visit to Southern Africa whilst you connect back to Johannesburg’s OR Tambo Airport from where you will fly back home.

    • Three nights accommodation on a Full Board basis (three meals per day, no drinks) + game activities

    • Three nights accommodation at Bahia Mar Boutique Hotel on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis
    • Rustic dhow safari day trip to a Bazaruto Archipelago island for snorkelling and swimming

  • What is excluded

    • All meals, beverages, entrance fees, activities, flights, transfers and car rental not listed under Includes section.
    • Regional and domestic flight fares and taxes are excluded but can be quoted on request.
    • All items of a personal nature such as curio shop purchases, telephone calls and gratuities.
    • Single traveller supplement and child rates will be quoted on request.
    • The rates are subject to change without warning if there is an increase to park fees, bed levies, fuel prices or sales by third party suppliers or any other circumstances
