  • Best time to travel

The best time to travel is largely dependent on what the visitor most wants to see and do.  The Chobe, Moremi and the Okovango Delta are best visited during the months of May to September when its the dry & winter months.  The Delta is normally flooded from around June to October depending on the rain fall in Angola.  Wildlife viewing is generally good all year round.

Situated on the banks of the Chobe River, Kubu Lodge is a privately owned and run Lodge that offers a tranquil location for those spending time in Kasane.  The intimate property has only 11 thatched chalets which ensures personalised service and a serene environment for those that prefer smaller properties to the bigger resorts.  Enjoy views of the Chobe River from the decks of the Morubisi Bar or Leathaba Restaurant.  Or simply stretch out and relax with a good book on one of the strategically placed day beds on the lawns of Kubu Lodge.  Kasane is a popular destination to use as a base to explore the wild and wonderful Chobe National Park or to hop across the border and view one of the world’s seven wonders – the Victoria Falls.

Built on elevated stilts, the 11 wooden and thatched chalets offer comfortable and charming accommodation.  Each chalet has en suite facilities along with a ceiling fan, tea and coffee making facilities and mosquito netting over the beds.  The chalets are situated in the lush gardens of Kubu Lodge with lots of shade to protect from the African sun.

Enjoy views of the Chobe River whilst sampling the hearty meals on offer from Kubu Lodge.  Breakfast is a full English breakfast buffet whilst lunch and dinner with a table d’hote menu.  The Lodge can cater for special meals and dietary requirements if advance notice is given.

Kasane offers a variety of activities to enjoy.  The most popular are definitely a game drive into Chobe or a boat cruise along the waterfront of the National Park.  The large Elephant herds are definitely the main attraction but Chobe National Park is also home to a large variety of other wildlife.  At the Lodge itself you can relax next to the swimming pool or enjoy a sunset cruise to the confluence of the Chobe and Zambezi rivers aboard the Lodge’s own boat.
