Situated in a protected marine conservation area, &Beyond Benguerra offers pristine beach and unspoiled coral reefs teaming with marine life.  Located on Benguerra Island, the second largest island in the Bazaruto Archipelago, the lodge is set on a deep lagoon unaffected by the tides which makes it perfect for swimming and snorkelling.  The area is known for its premier dive sites and thrilling deep sea fishing  in the Mozambique Channel that runs alongside the island.  Recently renovated the lodge boasts a fresh island feel with lush tropical gardens.  Guests can relax on their expansive private decks or enjoy an al fresco meal with toes in the sand at the colourful dhow style beach bar.

Casinhas & Cabanas

The ten casinhas and two cabanas all feature local thatch roofs, wooden shutters and glazed windows and doors that fold back to allow in cooling sea breezes and the magnificent views.  Enjoy the luxury of a private timber deck and cool plunge pool or laze away the afternoon in a woven hammock whilst listening to the birdlife that make the gardens their home.  All rooms feature air-conditioning, overhead fans, mosquito nets and an en suite bathroom with bath tub big enough for two.

Casa Familia

The Casa Familia is the perfect option for families traveling with children.  With three en suite bedrooms as well as a private swimming pool on a sheltered wooden verandah, the Casa is situated only a few meters away from the beach.  The Casa Familia can accommodate a maximum of four adults and four children and features all the same luxury amenities and facilities found in the other room types.

Dining

Guests can enjoy delightful dishes served either on beach, in the stylish dining room or sunny decks of the main lounge or even in the privacy of their room.  A lunch time favourite is a castaway picnic in the middle of soaring sand dunes, leaving you feeling as if you are the only ones on the island.  Menus are planned around the freshest local ingredients available as well as a selection of fine seafood from the bounty of the Indian Ocean.

Activities

Benguerra Island offers a variety of activities both on land and in the water to keep guests entertained during their stay.  Water based activities to choose from includes scuba diving, snorkeling and dhow cruises. What we think of it

Recently refurbished, the lodge is looking exceptionally well.  Ideal for those that prefer a more private retreat.
