Dome Tents

The Dome Tents are a perfect for choice for those wanting to enjoy a semi luxury camping experience in Mozambique.  Each tent is located on a wooden platform which creates a private terrace with beautiful views. The tent features either a double bed, two single beds or two camp beds for the kids.  Towels and soap are also provided.  The open air ablution facilities blend in harmoniously with the environment.  Note the tents do not have a self catering option and meals are enjoyed at the main restaurant.

Bungalows

Dunes de Dovela offers three luxuriously spacious bungalows.  Each offers beautiful sea views, a private terrace, en suite bathroom with bath and outdoor shower.  Meticulous care has been taken in the construction of the bungalows to ensure that they compliment the natural beauty of the surrounding environment whilst creating a comfortable haven for guests.

Dining

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the accommodation rate.  Enjoy the delicious Franco-Mozambican cuisine prepared and served by the friendly staff during your stay.  The team uses locally sourced ingredients as much as possible – seafood and fish brought in by local fishermen as well as fruits and vegetables sold by local traders that come down the beach from Maxixe.

Activities

Manhame beach is located a short walk away from the lodge.  A rocky reef creates a natural barrier to the open ocean and which a low tide tidal pool emerge in to snorkel.  However, a visit to Dunes de Dovela would not be complete without a visit to one of the local villages.  From its inception, the lodge has nurtured good relations with the local villagers.  This allows guests the opportunity to see and experience the daily life and peaceful atmosphere of the local Chope community.  View the making of cassava flour, visit the vegetable gardens or the Dovela school.  Share a meal with a family or help to carry water from the borehole – experiences and memories that are more than just traveling.

What we think of it

A beautiful eco lodge that is ideal for those wanting more than just a beach destination.  Meet the local community or enjoy the amazing birdlife in the surrounding dune forest.
