Boat transfer from Maputo Marina to the Lodge, duration approximately 60 – 90 minutes. Road transfers can be arranged from Kruger Mpumalanga Airport (Nelspruit) or game lodges in the Kruger Park area to the Maputo Marina.
Best time to travel
Generally good all year round with rain experienced from December to end March. Whale Season is from July to November.

The nine Ocean View Rooms have spectacular views of the Indian Ocean and Inhaca Island from their vantage point up on the dune. Each room features its own private deck, en suite bathroom, air conditioning, mini bar and luxury amenities.

The dedicated kitchen team at Machangulo Beach Lodge enjoy creating a variety of dining experiences for guests using local, fresh ingredients and flavours in simple and mouth-watering ways. Activities

A wealth of activities is on offer at Machangulo Beach Lodge. The Marine Reserve surrounding the Machangulo Peninsula offers excellent diving and snorkeling. Take the family to enjoy pristine snorkeling and a beach picnic on Inhaca island – a popular activity at the lodge. Keen fishermen will feel right at home amongst the various world class fishing locations in the area. Guests can also enjoy kayaking, birding and dhow trips.

What we think of it

The only good quality beach destination in the Maputo area – the lodge is close enough to the capitol for ease of access but also far enough for guests to enjoy a pristine beach and stunning activities.
